Faith Formation
St. Anne's Religious Education focuses on lifelong learning, aligning with Jesus' call to "make disciples." The program includes Adult Education with Christian Foundations for Ministry and emphasizes spirituality, sacraments, and the distinction between volunteering and ministry. Parishioners are encouraged to reflect on their spiritual direction and contribute their gifts to the community.
St. Anne - Religious Education
Built upon Jesus' directive to "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations," our Catechetical ministry is rooted in the mission of spreading the Christian faith. Catechesis, as defined by the Catechism of the Catholic Church, involves educating individuals of all ages in the Christian doctrine, fostering an organic and systematic understanding to initiate them into the fullness of Christian life. At its core, catechesis is about developing a personal relationship with Jesus, the essence of discipleship.
The four primary aims of catechesis are to proclaim the Christian message, prepare for prayer and worship, build up community, and motivate for Christian living and service. Our Religious Education program prioritizes lifelong education over a solely sacramental focus. We encourage families, especially those with children in public schools, to engage in creating an environment where the four goals of our Catechetical Ministry can be experienced.
Sunday classes following the 10:00 AM Mass provide the foundation for our Religious Education program. For inquiries about St. Anne's C.C.D., please contact Ms. Judy Waddleton and/or Ms. Elida Roman, our Catechetical leaders.
Adult Education:
Recognizing that adult catechesis is essential for ongoing development in the personal relationship with Jesus, we emphasize that it is not just for children. Adult education should extend beyond grammar and high school years, preventing frustration when attempting to address adult religious experiences with a vocabulary acquired in childhood or adolescence.
Christian Foundations for Ministry (CFM) is designed to deepen one's relationship with God, take responsibility for spiritual formation, examine life in light of the Gospel, discern gifts for ministry, and respond to the needs of the Church and the world. This program, welcoming new parishioners and anyone searching for a role in parish life, serves as an excellent follow-up to RCIA.
Various Forms of Spirituality:
At St. Anne’s, we assist in spiritual development by acknowledging the universal call to holiness and deepening Christian conversion. We offer personal prayer guidance, group prayer options, and spiritual aids, including traditional skills such as spiritual reading and examinations of conscience. Liturgy, especially the Sunday Eucharist, is highlighted as the source and summit of Christian life.
